Sand in the City 2008

Hello,

We went to Sand in the city again this year. The girls would play in the sand for as long as I let them. I think I still have sand between my toes. The baby loves to eat the sand, and watch the bigger kids play.

Shawn and the General

Dear Friends and Family,
General Petraeus came to our headquarters a couple of days ago. He received a briefing from the command, and then at the conclusion of thebriefing he asked for a show of hands for two time deployers. Those of us who had been in Iraq or Afghanistan twice got a coin, and a picturewith the general. It was a nice gesture. He also gave a second coin to those with three deployments, because he said the spouses deserve one also.

Look who is 5 now

Giana turned 5 this week. We had a fun party for her. It seems like only yesterday that Shawn was driving me past the city hosipital to have Giana at a cool historical town.

This is a picture of the unicorn that Shawn sent for Giana, he was able to watch her open it over the web cam.

I have been working hard painting the walls in the whole house. This has not been easy with all the wall touches around my house. I have put off the stairs, I was not sure how I was going to make that happen. I got out my fancy ladder that adjusts all different ways, the problem is I am not strong enough to lock the ladder. So I have this ladder that will do a split when ever I get on it. I got it set up on the stairs and was balanced on it, when Eowyn decided to grab the ladder to help her get up the stairs. Well I lived and did not brake anything. The problem with doing your own painting is you see every flaw and have no one to blame if it is not done well. The painting people in the area charge $45 an hour, it has taken me over a week to do this painting. So I am thinking that I deserve at least a $1000. check.

This is the flat Daddy picture that we got free from the company. The girls like to give it kisses. The problem is that Shawn had an injury on his face in the picture so the girls are allways woried about his boobo.
