Forest Visitor

This fellow was nosing around our garbage can when I went out last night. Chewy came with me, and stood and stared at him until I nudged Chewy in the butt with my foot. The visitor ran up a tree with Chewy barking at him. I brought Eowyn and Giana out to look. They were both very excited, and Eowyn proclaimed, "That's what you get when you live in the woods."

Eowyn's Dance Recital

Eowyn had a dance recital over the weekend. Nanny Carmella came down to watch, and to see Giana do her gym-fest. I have enclosed some pictures.

That is Eowyn in the center of the fuzzy picture.
The auditorium was dark and she was far away.

Spring Time Ponies

We decided that we should give Giana a chance to ride ponies, so we took her to Eowyn's pony lesson and got her signed up. It was a beautiful day with a little bit of wind. Giana loved her pony ride. Eowyn's pony, Autumn, seems so big to us for such a little girl. Giana's pony was Flutter, and was just the right size.

This is Giana, her helper Sierra, and the pony Flutter
(sometimes it is hard to tell the helper name from the pony name)

This is Eowyn on Autumn. Check out that look of concentration.

What fun! We hope we can find pony lessons in Washington.

New Baby4

We are expecting a new baby, Baby G4. The new baby is due on December 4. I will probably be in Baghdad when New Baby comes.

Gordon family green home ideas

Eowyn had Earth Day at school and is driving me crazy with recycling. We did much more recycling in Germany where it is the law to recycle, but we have been a little lazy in the U.S. We were going to choose Bamboo flooring for our old house but it did not work out. We are right away going to change out the light bulbs for more earth friendly ones when me move. I just found out that there are bamboo sheets. (see below) We learned a lot about bamboo at the DC zoo of all places and we are thinking of growing it next year. If anyone has any ideas for our family please pass them on.

Bamboo fiber has officially entered the mainstream. Bed, Bath and Beyond now offers these sheets made of 100% bamboo fiber with a thread count of 230. Bamboo is one of the softest fabrics in the world — softer than cotton but with a drape like silk. It comes from a rapidly renewable resource that doesn't require pesticides to grow. The sheet sets cost between $39-$99. :: Bed, Bath
