Saturday Activities with Eowyn

On Saturday, 16 May, Eowyn went to a Girl Scout Event at the Tacoma Nature Center.  The TCN is a 54 acre area inside Tacoma that acts as a storm water catch.

Here is Eowyn examining a yucky worm.

I know!  I know!

Redwoods

On the drive home from our vacation we stopped off in the Redwoods at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove.  It is a pretty easy 1 mile loop walk through a stand of ancient redwoods.  Eowyn ran the entire loop, with Giana on her heels.  Seneca fell down about 50 feet into the walk and either rode the stroller or was carried most of the rest of the way.  Sarafina walked and was carried.  I think Eowyn really enjoyed it, especially exploring the hollow trunks of many of the trees.

Monterey vacation

The beach in Carmel, Eowyn is bringing building materials to Giana.

Dolly is bundled up on the beach.

The girls are collaborating on building the perfect sand castle.  After building, they stomped it, because Eowyn says that is as much fun as building.

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium

We had a beautiful day today, and decided to go to the zoo.  Gia read in the newspaper that one of the zoo's beluga whales died recently.  When we told Giana, she was very upset.  We got her some flowers to take to the zoo.

We saw the surviving Beluga at the Rocky Shores Exhibit.

Giana and Seneca got popcorn from the refreshment stand.

I got a picture of all four girls right before we left.

Stall Tactics

One of the girls' latest stall tactics is to come down after bedtime claiming to be hungry.  If we feed one of them the rest will surely follow.  We have taken to giving them pieces of unadorned white bread to eat, which they happily do if it means they can stay up five minutes longer.

Gia's Birthday

It was Gia's 25th Birthday on 3 March (at least that is how old the kids say she is).

Happy Birthday to Gia.

The city of Lacey held the Second Annual Daddy and Daughter Ball on Saturday. Shawn took Eowyn and Giana to the ball. They danced and did food crafts, and had a generally good time.

Gordon Girls 2009 Edition

We just had our family photos taken at the Target photo studio.  Our girls did multiple poses, but Seneca did not have an individual one that turned out great.  I can say that it definitely looks like Seneca though.

Enjoy the pictures of the Gordon Girls.

Seneca starts school, baby hair cut

Seneca started Pre-K next door. She did well, I was sure she would get frustrated and just run home. The teacher said something about needing to learn about rules, or some thing silly like that.

Seneca avoiding eye contact, a valuable skill for a 3 year old. I do not see you, I can not hear you. Getting ready to go in to school.

Seneca was not sure about going to school. Then I suggested she wear the fancy Dora dress and she was all for that.
Help mom an dad are too cheap to take me to a hair dresser.

Hitting a moving target with sharp things. What fun. Eowyn is the worst to do. $8 scissors from the store, an hair cuts at the cheap place in the mall $10 a kid.
